Shri Shiv Mahapurana Katha
Pujya Swami ji is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. The holy Shraavan Maas (July-August) of the Hindu Calendar is considered to be a very auspicious time to worship Lord Shiva. It is during this period that Swami ji holds a discourse on Shiva Mahapurana. The different leelas (spectacles) of Lord Shiva make for a very captivating narrative for the seekers. The discourse pans across a multitude of facets of personality of Lord Shiva, from the angry slayer of demons to the innocent seeker of Lord, from the know-all yogi living in the Himalayas to the devout householder living with wife and children.
About Shiv Mahapurana
The Shiv Mahapurana is one of the very well acclaimed puranas in Hinduism. It primarily traverses the life course of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati and has sparing references to the other forms of the God as well. The scripture gives a detailed description of various attributes of Lord Shiva, like the Third Eye, the Crescent Moon, the Blue Throat, the Sacred Ganga, etc. and the significance associated with each one of them. The Mahapurana also talks about the sacrifices of Maa Parvati and the innocent activities of Lord Kartikeya and Lord Ganesha.
